My journey to Santisuk

Where it all began…..

Santisuk is a concept 20 years in the making. I wanted a place that was tranquil and special. A place that would inspire positivity, healing, nurtures self-discovery and promotes a better way of life for as many people as possible.

I used to live the same type of lifestyle as most others in the western world. I trained as a plumber in a small UK town to provide for my two children and my wife, pay my mortgage and have my one holiday a year to Spain. Dreaming of a better life, I moved my young family to Australia in the early 90s when there was a shortage of skilled workers. Australia was beautiful and you didn’t have to drive far to feel like you were on holiday, however in 2002, years of working on my hands and knees took its toll on my body. I was told that the damage to my back was inoperable, I would live with pain for the rest of my life. Western surgeons recommended alternative therapies such as massage in the hopes it would release tension in my lower back.

This is when life began to change…

My masseuse taught me about energy and how stagnant energy can be relieved through acupuncture. I thought it was a load of rubbish, but I was in so much pain, I was willing to try anything for some relief. The more my masseuse talked to me about massage and energy and how you can influence and heal your mind and body, the more I was convinced to signed up for a massage course.

I started to research alternative therapies to assist with mobility and pain management. Another doctor recommended yoga (What!?). I was sceptical, but whilst some of the other treatments had provided some support, I was still living in severe pain. I committed to trying it for 3 months, what a game changer. Breathing? Flexibility? How had I spent almost 40 years on this earth and didn’t even realise that I had never taken a proper breath? The added benefit of core strength and flexibility started to dramatically improve my quality of life. Yoga, it turns out isn’t just for wheatgrass drinking hippies.

Slipping back into old habits …

I started a new career at a start-up, and I slipped back into old habits, I let massage, yoga and mindfulness slip away. It wasn’t until a few years later when faced with what I thought at the time was a heart attack that I had a second wake up call. When the universe wants to get your attention, it absolutely will!
This experience was a significant smack to start to change everything and explore more earnestly energy and divinity (talk to me about this when you see me). My journeys from 2010 to 2013 led me to Chi Nei Tsang and Tok Sen. Both incredibly powerful techniques to release blocked trauma energy that leads to sickness and a poor quality of life. Sickness can be joint pain, cancer many different forms that can be released! Then the real work starts of rediscovering your true self or higher self, which changes the future.

Santisuk and The Self Healing Centre.

The last 8 years of inner work and self discovery have brought me here to Koh Chang. I came to Koh Chang to look for a place that could be special, and facilitate inner work for as many people as possible. My aim is to provide an opportunity for people to heal and discover their true nature for a better life.
When I arrived, Santisuk wasn’t even an idea, but as I drove up the back road I saw the back of 1 room and the inner voice said you will buy that, 3 days later the inner voice was right, as usual! This is my opportunity to share my journey and all I have learned with as many people as possible.
